Riviere (John Barrymore) is obsessively devoted to his air delivery service, Trans Andean European Air Mail, putting prompt delivery over the safety of his own men. His best pilot, Jules (Gable), tries to satisfy Riviere's schedule, which includes dangerous night flights over the Andes Mountains. Based on the novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
