Professor of Astronomy, and Chairman of Dept., Boston University, 1957-69; Dean, Dickinson College, Pa., 1969-71; Astronomer, Smithsonian Astrophysics Observatory, Washington, D.C., 1962- 74; Ed., U.S. Information Agency, 1975-89. Publications: Splendor in the Sky, 1961; (with John B. White) Stonehenge Decoded, 1965; Beyond Stonehenge, 1973; (with Julia M. Dobson) Conversations in English, 1979; Mind- steps to the Cosmos, 1983; (with W. M. Flinders Petrie) Stonehenge Update, 1989. Died 2003.
