Con Air ★★★ 1997 (R)

Producer Bruckheimer flies solo for the first time, and has a very successful flight. Cage reups as former Ranger Cameron Poe, jailed for manslaughter, who gets paroled just in time to catch a ride home aboard a plane filled with the worst of America's criminals. Led by Cyrus “The Virus” Grissom (Malkovich), the firstclass psycho passengers take over the plane, and Cameron must save the day. Among the snappy oneliners, chases, shootouts, and stuff blowin' up real good, comes Federal Marshal Larkin (Cusack) to help Poe from the ground. Cusack can't shake his indiefilm, quirkykid image enough to really pass as an action hero, but he gives it his all. Flick supplies everything you'd expect from a summer blockbuster actioner, but it's best seen on a bigscreen with surround sound to get the full effect. 105m/C VHS, DVD, Bluray Disc .
