Collegiate Environment:
Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, marching band, student-run newspaper, radio station. Social organizations: 300 open to all; national fraternities, national sororities, coed fraternities; 19% of eligible men and 25% of eligible women are members. Most popular organizations: community service, cultural organizations, performing arts. Major annual events: Bacchanal (Spring Fest), Activities Day, Columbia Community Outreach. Butler Library plus 20 others with 7.2 million books, 5.1 million microform titles, 66,000 serials, an OPAC, and a Web page. 400 computers available on campus for general student use.
