Neville, Phoebe (1941–)
American postmodern dancer and choreographer. Born Sept 28, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA; trained with Joyce Trisler and Daniel Nagrin.
Worked with Clark Center for the Performing Arts, Studio Nine, and Judson Dance Theater; performed in works of Meredith Monk, Kenneth King, and Carolee Schneemann; created Of the Dark Air (1962), Mask Dance (1967), and Night Garden (1972). Also choreographed Ragaroni (1966), Dance for Mandolins (1966), (with Philip Hipwell) Light Rain (1968), Caryatid (1969), Cartouche (1974), Mosaic (1976) and Dodona (1980), among others.
