English silk merchant. Flourished in 15th century in London.

A citizen of London, Jane Langton established and managed her own business, importing and marketing silk cloth. Her name appears in the household records of the English royal family as a trusted silk merchant. Langton had established herself in business after her husband died, as a means of supporting herself without being forced to remarry. She was a well-respected entrepreneur and earned substantial profits from her wealthy noble and bourgeois customers.
