missing-plot technique

missing-plot technique

missing-plot technique A standard formula for the estimation of a missing datum observation (or, with suitable modification, the estimation of several missing values) in the analysis of the variance of data collected according to a recognized experimental design. The missing observation (x′ij) may be estimated as: xij = tTi + bBjG′/(t − 1)(b − 1), where Ti, Bj, and G′ are the treatment, block, and grand totals for the available observations, i is the ith treatment, j is the jth block, t is the number of treatments, and b is the number of blocks.
