European début, Schwetzingen 1984 (created title-role in Kelterborn's Ophelia). Débuts: Glyndebourne 1989; Salzburg Fest. and CG 1990; NY Met 1991. Has sung with many leading Eur. and Amer. orchs. and with ens. cond. by Harnoncourt and Gardiner. Marian Anderson Award 1990.
