Jones, Robert
Jones, Robert (b c.1485; d c.1535). Eng. composer and singer. Member of Chapel Royal under Henry VII and Henry VIII. Was at Field of the Cloth of Gold 1520. Only 3 comps. survive: Missa ‘Spes nostra’ in 5 parts, Magnificat in 5 parts, and 3-part song ‘Who shall have my fayr ladye?’

Jones, Robert (b c.1570; d c.1615). Eng. composer and lutenist. Wrote 5 sets of ‘songs and ayres’ and set of madrigals. Contributed Fair Oriana to The Triumphs of Oriana (1601).
