Lively, Penelope

Lively, Penelope (1933– ) British novelist, b. Egypt. Lively wrote numerous children's books, including the award-winning The Ghost of Thomas Kempe (1973) and A Stitch in Time (1976). Her first work for adults was The Road to Lichfield (1977). Moon Tiger (1987) won the Booker Prize. Other novels include According to Mark (1984), City of the Mind (1991), and Cleopatra's Sister (1993).
