OECD
OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) A consultative body established on 12 April 1960 to further economic and political consultation among the 25 leading industrial nations. It emerged from the Organization for European Economic Co-operation, set up on 16 April 1948, in order to coordinate the Marshall Plan. By 2002 it had 30 members, who pursued the common aim of economic prosperity through cooperation and the promotion of world trade, and democratic and political stability in the face of globalization.
