Norodom Sihamoni

Norodom Sihamoni

Norodom Sihamoni 1953-, king of Cambodia (2004-). A son of King Norodom Sihanouk and his fifth wife, Norodom Sihamoni was trained as a dancer and taught dance (1981-2000) in Paris, choreographed, and directed his own dance company. In 1993 he became Cambodia's ambassador to UNESCO. Generally apolitical, he was chosen to succeed his father when the latter abdicated in 2004.
