Hadar
Hadar or Beta Centauri , bright star in the constellation Centaurus ; 1992 position R.A. 14 h 01.7 m , dec. -60°13′. A bluish-white giant of spectral class B1 II, it has an apparent magnitude of 0.63, making it one of the 10 brightest stars in the sky. Its distance from the earth is more than 400 light-years. Hadar is a visual binary star . |

Hadar
Hadar The star Beta Centauri, the 11th-brightest star in the sky, also known as Agena. It is a B1 giant of magnitude 0.6, but is a variable of the Beta Cephei variety with an amplitude of only about 0.05 mag. It is a double, with a close companion of magnitude 3.9. Hadar lies 525 l.y. away.
