Conway
Conway ♂ Transferred use of the surname, which has multiple origins. It is a local name from places in Scotland, in the parish of Beauly, or (now Conwy) on the coast of North Wales. As an Irish name, it is an Anglicized form of various Gaelic names such as Ó Connmhaigh or Mac Connmhaigh ‘descendant (or son) of Connmhach’ (a personal name derived from connmach ‘head smashing’), or Ó Conbhuide ‘descendant of Cú Bhuidhe’ (a personal name from cú ‘hound’ + buidhe ‘yellow’).
