Alberto Ginastera , 1916-83, Argentinean composer, b. Buenos Aires. Ginastera is considered among the most prominent comtemporary Latin American composers of the 20th cent. His early works used Latin American folk material; later compositions were less nationalistic and utilized serial techniques (see serial music ).
