Adria
Adria, Veneto/Italy Atria Founded by the Etruscans, the origin of the name is not certain. It may have a connection with the Illyrian adri ‘rock’, or the Latin atrium (plural atria) ‘hall’. Originally a port, although now 12 miles (19 km) inland, it gave its name to the Adriatic Sea, Mare Adriatico.
