stuff·ing / ˈstəfing/ • n. 1. a mixture used to stuff poultry or meat before cooking. 2. padding used to stuff cushions, furniture, or soft toys. PHRASES: knock (or take) the stuffing out of inf. severely impair the confidence or strength of (someone).

stuffing

stuffing Savoury mixture used to give flavour to a dish; may be placed in a body cavity, as with poultry, laid flat between two portions, or rolled into boneless joint of meat. May be a mixture of breadcrumbs, flour, chestnut, etc., with herbs and spices or may be minced meat. See also forcemeat.
