REXX

REXX Short for restructured extended executor. A procedural programming language with a simplified structure, designed to facilitate rapid prototyping, and available on a wide variety of systems. The name derives from the fact that it was originally developed to simplify the writing of control procedures (known as EXECs) for the IBM mainframe operating system. The IBM mainframe version is called System Product Interpreter.
