COMAL

COMAL Acronym for common algorithmic language. A programming language that was developed for use in schools in Denmark and enjoyed a brief vogue in the UK. It was defined as a set of extensions to Basic, combining modern control structures such as if…then…else and do…while with the traditional simplicity and familiarity of Basic. Modern dialects of Basic provide these structures, and COMAL has consequently fallen into disuse.
