Tibetan art
Tibetan art Virtually all art in Tibet is religious in character, designed to serve the elaborate rituals of Tibetan Buddhism. All artworks are anonymous and most are undated. Paintings come in two forms – wall-paintings and thangkas, which are banners, usually displayed in temples or carried in processions. Thangkas generally depict scenes from the life of a deity or mandalas (patterns used for meditation).
