sheaf / shēf/ • n. (pl. sheaves / shēvz/ ) a bundle of grain stalks laid lengthwise and tied together after reaping. ∎  a bundle of objects of one kind, esp. papers: he waved a sheaf of papers in the air. • v. [tr.] bundle into sheaves.
