Tilburg

Tilburg (tĬl´bərg), city (1994 pop. 163,383), North Brabant prov., S Netherlands, near the Belgian border. Woolen textiles are the primary manufactured products. The city's main industrial growth began in the late 19th cent. It is the site of the Catholic School of Economics. The town hall was used in the first half of the 19th cent. as a royal residence by King William II of the Netherlands.
