homeland

home·land / ˈhōmˌland/ • n. a person's or a people's native land: migrants who departed from their Asian homeland. ∎  an autonomous or semiautonomous state occupied by a particular people: their political aim is a separate Tamil homeland. ∎ hist. any of ten partially self-governing areas in South Africa designated for particular indigenous African peoples under the former policy of apartheid.
