coo / koō/ • v. (coos , cooed ) [intr.] (of a pigeon or dove) make a soft murmuring sound. ∎  (of a baby) make a soft murmuring sound similar to this, expressing contentment. ∎  (of a person) speak in a soft gentle voice, typically to express affection: I cruised the room, cooing at toddlers. • n. [in sing.] a soft murmuring sound made by a dove or pigeon. PHRASES: bill and coosee bill2 . coo2 • interj. Brit., inf. used to express surprise: “Coo, ain't it high!” Mary squeaked.
