bung / ng/ • n. a stopper for closing a hole in a container. • v. [tr.] close with a stopper: the casks are bunged before delivery. ∎  (bung something up) block (something), typically by overfilling it: you let vegetable peelings bung up the sink. ∎  ruin something.
