ad·vert1 / ˈadˌvərt/ • n. Brit., inf. an advertisement. ad·vert / adˈvərt; ədˈvərt/ • v. [intr.] (advert to) formal refer to in speaking or writing: he had failed to advert to the consequences of his conduct.
