Leander

Leander in Greek mythology, a young man, the lover of the priestess Hero, who swam nightly across the Hellespont to visit her, and who was drowned while so doing.
Leander Club the oldest amateur rowing club in the world, founded early in the 19th century, and now based in Henley-on-Thames.
