rectilinear

rec·ti·lin·e·ar / ˌrektəˈlinēər/ (also rec·ti·lin·e·al / -ēəl/ ) • adj. contained by, consisting of, or moving in a straight line or lines: a rectilinear waveform. ∎  Photog. of or relating to a straight line or lines: rectilinear distortion. ∎  Photog. (of a wide-angle lens) corrected as much as possible, so that straight lines in the subject appear straight in the image. DERIVATIVES: rec·ti·lin·e·ar·i·ty / -ˌlinēˈaritē/ n. rec·ti·lin·e·ar·ly adv.
