khan / kän/ • n. a title given to rulers and officials in central Asia, Afghanistan, and certain other Muslim countries. ∎  any of the successors of Genghis Khan, supreme rulers of the Turkish, Tartar, and Mongol peoples and emperors of China in the Middle Ages.
