mel·a·no·ma / ˌmeləˈnōmə/ • n. (pl. -no·mas or -no·ma·ta / -ˈnōmətə/ ) Med. a tumor of melanin-forming cells, typically a malignant tumor associated with skin cancer: melanomas can appear anywhere on the body | the incidence of melanoma is rising steadily.
