chig·ger / ˈchigər/ (also jigger) • n. 1. a tiny mite (genus Trombicula, family Trombiculidae) whose parasitic larvae live on or under the skin of warm-blooded animals, where they cause irritation and dermatitis. 2. another term for chigoe.
