Strepsirrhini (cohort Unguiculata, order Primates) A suborder that includes the lemurs, bush-babies, lorises, and potto. All members of these groups possess a moist rhinarium and a cleft upper lip bound to the gum, and these, together with other features (including the proportion of proteins they share), suggest that they form a coherent group which may be contrasted with the other suborder of Primates, the Haplorrhini. According to this classification, Strepsirrhini and Haplorrhini replace the suborders Prosimii and Anthropoidea.
