Soricoidea

Soricoidea (order Insectivora, suborder Lipotyphla) A superfamily that comprises all the members of the Lipotyphla with the exception of the hedgehogs and moon rat. The superfamily is divided into the families Soricidae (shrews), Talpidae (moles), Solenodontidae (solenodon), Tenrecidae (tenrec and otter shrew), and Chrysochloridae (golden mole); but the last three of these families are sometimes classed as superfamilies in their own right.
