Siluridae

Siluridae (wels; superorder Ostariophysi, order Siluriformes) A family of freshwater catfish that have elongate, scaleless bodies, a somewhat conical head with two pairs of barbels near the mouth, a very long anal fin, and a forked tail fin. The single dorsal fin is very small. The family contains many species, distributed in the northern hemisphere, from Europe to Indonesia.
