Pimelodidae

Pimelodidae (long-whiskered catfish; superorder Ostariophysi, order Siluriformes) A very large family of freshwater catfish that have elongate, scaleless bodies, a small dorsal fin, long adipose fin, and three pairs of barbels around the lips. Most species are nocturnal. There are 285 species, occurring in S. America.
