Osteoglossomorpha (class Osteichthyes, subclass Actinopterygii) A superorder of bony fish including the orders
Osteoglossiformes and
Mormyriformes. The name is derived from the Greek
osteon, ‘bone’,
glossa, ‘tongue’, and
morphe, ‘form’.
