Nettastomidae

Nettastomidae (duckbill eel, witch eel; subclass Actinopterygii, order Anguilliformes) A small family of deep-sea, eel-like fish that have a very slender, elongate body, long and thin jaws, and a large mouth with sharp teeth. Pectoral fins are absent, but the dorsal and anal fins are long and low. Duckbill (or witch) eels are found only at great depth in the oceans. There are about 16 species.
