Caprimulgiformes (frogmouths, nighthawks, nightjars, owlet-nightjars, oilbirds, potoos; class Aves) An order of grey-brown, cryptically plumaged birds that have small bills with large gape and rictal bristles, short legs, and a short hind toe. They are nocturnal, terrestrial, and mainly insectivorous. There are five families: Aegothelidae, Caprimulgidae, Nyctibiidae, Podargidae, and Steatornithidae. They are found world-wide.
