Thibaud, Jacques (b Bordeaux, 1880; d in air crash near Mt. Cemet, Fr. Alps, 1953). Fr. violinist. Début Paris 1898. Soloist many times in 1898 with Colonne Orch., Paris. Thereafter world tours. Salzburg Fest. 1932. Member of pf. trio with Cortot and Casals. Taught at École Normale de Musique, Paris. With Marguerite Long, founded Long-Thibaud comp., 1943.
