Monte Carlo Orch. 1928–32, Orch. of Concerts Colonne, Paris, 1932–40 and 1944–52. Amer. début 1939. Mus. dir. Detroit SO 1952–63. Last appearance as cond., Curtis Inst. 1978. Wrote syms., ballet, Mass for the 500th Anniversary of the Death of Jeanne d'Arc (1931), str. qt., etc.
