Jerusalem, Siegfried (b Oberhausen, 1940). Ger. tenor. Began career as bassoonist in various Ger. orchs. (Stuttgart Radio SO 1972–7). Opera début Stuttgart 1975 (First Prisoner in Fidelio). Sang Lohengrin, Darmstadt and Aachen 1976, Hamburg 1977. Bayreuth début 1977; Salzburg Fest. début 1979. Deutsche Oper, Berlin, 1977–80. NY Met début 1980; ENO 1986; CG 1986. Many Wagner roles.
