Made special study of elec. instr. the Trautonium for which he wrote 2 concs. (1939, 1952). Other works incl. Bremer Symphony (1942); sym. (1985); choral works; str. qt.; hp. septet; 2 fl. sonatas; 2 vn. sonatas; recorder sonata; suite for trautonium and pf. His Mass in E (1953) is highly regarded.
