Wallace, Alfred Russel
Wallace, Alfred Russel (1823–1913) A British naturalist who worked in the E. Indies and as a result of his observations there arrived independently at a theory of evolution by natural selection. This was communicated to Charles
Darwin and their views were combined in the paper they presented jointly to the Linnean Society of London on 1 July 1858
.
