Agaricaceae (order Agaricales) A family of fungi in which the spores in masses typically appear either dark brown or colourless, but not rust-coloured or cinnamon-brown. The stipe typically bears a ring. They are saprotrophic and found on the ground in grassland, woods, etc. Agaricus (including the edible mushroom) and Lepiota are typical genera.
