uveitis (yoo-vi-I-tis) n. inflammation of any part of the uveal tract of the eye, either the iris (
iritis), ciliary body (
cyclitis), or choroid (
choroiditis). All types may lead to visual impairment, and uveitis is an important cause of blindness.
