ultrasound marker

ultrasound marker (mark-er) n. the appearance, on ultrasonography of a pregnant uterus, of a feature suggesting a structural or chromosomal abnormality in the fetus. An example is increased nuchal translucency (see nuchal (translucency scanning)).
