Aesir Primary group of Nordic gods who lived in Asgard. Woden (Odin), Thor (Donar) and Tyr (Tiw), with a few others, were the object of a cult that extended throughout the lands inhabited by Germanic peoples. Secondary to the Aesir was a group of gods known as the Vanir.
