Röntgen, Wilhelm Konrad

Röntgen, Wilhelm Konrad (1845–1923) German physicist. In 1895, Röntgen discovered X-rays. He also conducted important work on electricity, the specific heats of gases, and the heat conductivity of crystals. In 1901, Röntgen received the first Nobel Prize in physics.
