Munich Putsch

Munich Putsch (Beer-hall Putsch) Attempted coup in 1923 by Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party to overthrow the republican government of Bavaria, which began in a beer-hall. The coup proved abortive, and Hitler was arrested and sentenced to five years in the Landsberg Fortress. He served nine months.
