Jaspers, Karl Theodor

Jaspers, Karl Theodor (1883–1969) German philosopher and psychopathologist. Jaspers was professor of psychology (1921–48) at the University of Heidelberg. His major work, Philosophy (1932), presents an individual interpretation of existentialism. Jaspers argued that the deepest insights into human nature are revealed in ‘limit situations’, such as death.
